Roadmap to
Graduation
Roadmap to Graduation
At Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties, our Roadmap to Graduation program helps provide a safe, stable environment matching homeless youth, who are Juniors and Seniors in high school, with mentor families in the community. The students we serve are on track to graduate, but face significant stressors in their home environment, making it difficult to focus on school.
Many of these students are forced to leave their homes because it is no longer a safe environment due to verbal, physical, sexual, and/or parental drug abuse. Oftentimes, these students are faced with staying in their current situation, couch surfing, or living on the street while they try to navigate school and life as a teen. That’s where the Roadmap to Graduation program comes in.
Please note: This program currently covers students in Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties.

How the Program Works
Through the Roadmap to Graduation program, we place the youth with a mentor family who provides structure and guidance and helps the student plan for the future, while teaching the necessary life skills to succeed after graduation. After more than 10 years of our Roadmap to Graduation program, Catholic Charities has achieved a 100% rate of graduation for Roadmap students. Approximately 85% of these students have gone on to college, university, trade school, or military training.
